OUGD406 Studio Brief 02 Analysis of Other People's Work

For this brief I wanted to look t another groups work as well as my own and to do this I have chosen selftea.
It's the simplicity of this idea which grabbed my attention. It is fairly self explanatory really. The task this group was given was to get people to drink more tea through a viral campaign. So, they have taken the already viral idea of selfies and added tea into the equation. Along with this they released a lot of tweets about the health benefits behind many different kinds of tea. The logo, shown above, is very simple and self explanatory while still being quirky and witty. The addition of the handle on the camera just brings the whole thing together really well.

The big difference between this campaign and our own is the way that it kind of has its own momentum. It does't need the group constantly updating for it to catch on because the interactive element of it is so familiar and easy. Where as ours requires a lot more constant attention to ensure that the content is good and up to date. But the one thing that I was worrying about was the limited amount of design work which we had done, is a similar situation for this group. The difficulty with making anything viral is that it has to have a delivery point and a clear and concise message which perhaps both our blog and selftea didn't have. We could have improved both by creating a campaign to promote the blog or practice that went viral, then the campaign would have had a clear purpose and message. `this is something I struggled with on this task; we had to create the message that we were conveying our selves.
