OUGD501 Context of Practice 02 Tutorial and Guidance on Question Choice

As I outlined in the last context of practice seminar I want to focus on Typography in relation to pastiche. In preparation I made a few notes on my thoughts about the subject matter and how I might tackle the question.

I came up with a preliminary question:
To what extent can the term pastiche be used to describe the letter forms of hand lettering of the last 10 years?



I got quite a lot of guidance that should be really useful in reshaping m question and my essay. Richard suggested focussing on 2 or 3 typfaces and analyse them closely, this should create greater structure to the essay. 
he also suggested a question:

Is Jamerson's theory of pastiche applicable to modern typographic practice?

I think I need to read more into the theory of pastiche and see where this takes me in regard to the question and essay structure.
