OUGD405 Studio Brief 03 Etching Research

Because I wanted to create this victorian botanical book look for my layouts I wanted to try out etching to recreate the pen illustrations I did for this project. So, I went to the vernon street print room and asked to see some samples of what it is possible to produce with etching.

 I found that a two tones effect is achievable through use of different chemicals.

This in particular is closest to what I want to achieve, the detailed finish is perfect. However, because I have not had the etching induction I cannot use this production method for this brief but if I could have I would. Instead I will attempt to create a similar effect in digital print by using lightly texture paper.
