The standard of the posters for this brief was incredible and it was very difficult to select just one to look at in detail but in the end I settled on a film that I was unfamiliar with because I could extrapolate from the design the essence of the film. There is incredible use of the two colours in this design, creating a really define foreground for the text increasing legibility. The green type in the background along with its pixelated style is synonymous with technology and the complexity of computer hardware. Because the look like codes and lists of information the mind instantly jumps to hacking and the idea of a slightly questionable use of computers. The layers of each letter create the impression of movement in unpredictable and erratic directions. These layers also look distinctly like cards when held in the hand during play. This suggests possibly a thriller or mystery along with some kind of game, hoax or 'hustle'.
I have subsequently looked at the synopsis of the film and it was surprisingly close. However, I feel that the film its self is more bubbly that this poster suggests, perhaps a lighter stock or colours should have been used.
