OUGD401 Brief 02 Context of Practice Pagination

Although I made my pagination fairly simple by choosing a concertina book bind I still wanted to ensure that i didn't need to re print any thing because it is so important that the front and back of each section line up. So, I did a few drawings to try and work things out.
I then set about creating tho in indesign as can be see below.
Doing this got me thinking about the first and last pages of the book and what would need to go there. I spent a long time writing a really wordy and dense intro but in the end I have cut it down to just a sentence.
'letterpress is a process which requires skill and craftsmanship; equal parts art and craft.'
This way it allows the images and designs to elaborate on the point made in the intro and it connects directly to my essay without depending on it to make sense. On the final page I realised I needed to ensure that the studios and creatives that produced the work are fully credited, so I added a 'with thanks' page.

My previous post for this project has also given me an idea for the name of the publication, that would mean that it could work as a promotional piece for any of the presses that have their work in it. 'The Chase'.
This has also lead me to create a short blurb that plays on this name.
'The Chase...for print perfection is one that requires skill time and attention to detail. The recent renaissance of letterpress, re-establishes the link between craftsmen and their work, the graphic designer and the product of their art. 'The Chase' examines this link by looking at the process behind letter press work.'
