Whilst pinteresting for this project I stumbled across a completely new discipline that falls (just about) into the parameters of calligraphy-Calligraffiti.
Its a beautiful style of lettering that takes the skill of calligraphy and plays with it in terms of scale and interlocking patterns that play with the letter forms themselves.
This might be something to consider for experimentation because I have already experienced and itch to upscale the sometimes painfully small and detailed pieces.
They also often play with the medium they use, opting for wide brushes and thin inks that splatter and spread.
This change of media is exactly what I needed to take the calligraphic style further. Just in the same way that stranger and stranger use digital methods to slowly develop from old methods, I can use other crafts to develop from a similar old method. i want to experiment with making the media blatant and continuously evaluate legibility throughout, to guage the success of the designs.
